A 3-year-old girl was crushed to death by a school van in Shiv Kanth Nagar area of the city on Tuesday evening.

INDORE: A 3-year-old girl was crushed to death by a school van in Shiv Kanth Nagar area of the city on Tuesday evening.
The minor, Nadya, was playing outside her house, when a speeding school van crushed her. Angry residents of the area, however, chased the van and caught hold of the van driver. The van driver was later arrested by Banganga and charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

The minor was meanwhile rushed to the Aurobindo Hospital, where doctors declared her as brought dead.
Meanwhile, 35-year-old Hemlata Vyas, the wife of a peon Chunnilal Vyas (posted at Indore Mayor's House) allegedly committed suicide by setting self ablaze inside her house in Goving Colony in Aerodrome. She was said to be under psychiatric treatment for acute depression at district mental hospital.
She was rushed to a hospital with 100 % burns, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. She immolated self when her 90-year-old mother-in-law was the only family member present in the house.
Also, a 20-year-old B.Com student Naina allegedly ended life by consuming poison inside her house in Kandalipura locality of the city on Tuesday. Reasons behind the suicide are not known, city police sources said.
